One of the most classic ascents into a surprising mountain setting of Argentina. The roof of Córdoba, Cerro Champaqui of 2790 meters, is a magical work of nature within the so-called Sierras Grandes. On one side Calamuchita Valley, the other, the Traslasierras. An invitation to the great adventure for trekking lovers.
What we present here is the planned route for the crossing, but the exact route, the duration of each stage of travel and choice of alternative routes are subject to various factors such as weather conditions and group assessment by the guides.
Day 1: Meeting in Villa General Belgrano, from there we`ll go to Villa Alpina a small mountain village, located about 1,300 masl. Here we`ll prepare and arrange the bags and start the trekking gradually, bound for the area shelters, located at 2200 masl
The trail, gets deep into the Sierras Grandes and this stretch lasts approximately 6 hours to reach the camp area and shelters, along the Rio Tabaquillo. We`ll rest, have some snack and later assembly of camp. Dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Early breakfast. We have a day of ascent to summit, toward the roof of the province of Córdoba. A steep climb with great views. If time and conditions permit us, we will arrive to summit around noon. Time to lunch and enjoy the great moment. Later we began the descent back to the camp. Relax. Snack. Farewell dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Breakfast. Descent to Villa Alpina, after disarming the camp. We finally arrived at the place where the vehicle will be waiting to move to Villa Gral Belgrano. End of program.
